ABOUT DDA

Direct Database Access uses QueryTool, a Windows desktop application, to access our MySQL database on cloud servers.

It provides a high-performance, high-availability, high-reliability and easy to use data access solution.

Our database is running on a cloud computing platform hosted by Google Cloud Platform (GCP). It runs on high-performance machines to provide quick query response times compared to most in-house databases. Data is highly available and reliable with data being backed up at regular intervals. All management of data is handled by IES to provide you with easy access to the data you need.

The database deployed in GCP is MySQL. Access is via our desktop application, QueryTool but the service can also be accessed by any third party query tool that accepts CSV via web API, for example, MS Excel or PowerBI, etc.

The DDA service provides access to the full history of Australian NEM energy market data, the STTM and DWGM gas markets and BOM data.
